RON COFFEY, M.Ed. is a veteran Cryptozoologist with nearly forty years of experience in the field. He has researched cryptid sightings throughout the Eastern United States as well as Northern Europe. He serves as the leading investigator of strange and unusual animals in his home state of Kentucky and surrounding states. He has done extensive research on Bigfoot and a newly discovered biped wolf-like cryptid, often referred to as the America Werewolf; he is considered one of the foremost experts on both cryptids.

Ron is the author of Kentucky Cryptids: The Search for Kentucky's Hidden Animals and the co-author of Gateway Ghosts and Local legends His latest works Fangs Across the Americas: The Encyclopedia of American Werewolves and Other Shape Shifters and Bigfoot: Answers to Frequent Questions are due out in late 2011.

Ron is also a Certified Ghost Hunter; he and his wife, Lori, are the co-founders of the Gateway Paranormal Society of Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Together, with their team of highly skilled researchers, they have investigated sites across the United States and Europe.
